In order to make the most of your ride, it is best to pay some attention to your attire. For the occasional rider, there is no need to go out and purchase a new outfit but some tips should be followed for the best riding experience.
Sturdy footwear. Your feet are best protected from the elements, the horse and branches on the trail in sturdy shoes or boots. Try to avoid light sneakers if you can.
Long pants. Your legs are best protected from the elements, the horse, and branches in sturdy pants. Jeans are the best choice. Try to avoid wearing shorts.
Long-sleeved shirt. While it is nice to catch some sun rays, your arms are best protected from branches in long sleeves. They also help prevent sun burns on longer rides.
Hat or cap. Wearing a hat or cap will protect your head better from sun or rain.
Jacket. Weather forecasts have little meaning in the mountains. Since the weather can be unpredictable at times, best bring a jacket. If you don't need it, just tie it to the saddle.
Gloves. Some prefer wearing gloves. They offer protection from the elements or from branches.
